What a gem! I've done audio tours before but this one really brought Asakusa to life. The storytelling about how the Sensoji Temple survived the bombings while everything around it burned was incredibly moving. I loved how the narrator timed everything perfectly - right when I reached the main gate, the story about the thunder god statues began. The bit about the hidden restoration techniques they used on the pagoda was fascinating. Even though it was free, the production quality felt premium. Perfect way to spend a morning in Tokyo.

Really solid tour that gave me so much context I wouldn't have had otherwise. The section where you walk through Nakamise-dori and learn about how the street vendors have been in the same families for generations was my favorite part. The narrator's voice was engaging and the pacing worked well with my walking speed. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that some of the audio got a bit repetitive when talking about the Meiji period changes - could have been tighter there.

Good introduction to the area with some interesting historical details, especially the story about the fishermen who found the Buddha statue in the river. The part where you stop at the incense burner and learn about the purification rituals was well done. However, I wish there had been more specific directions about where exactly to stand for some of the viewpoints. I spent a few minutes looking around trying to figure out which building the narrator was referring to when describing the architectural details. Also could use more recent history - felt like it jumped from Edo period straight to modern day.
